4 Albums To Expect In 2022: The Comeback Season
2021 is having some major bangers! So, what better way to add to it than for these four artists to announce their album coming soon and maybe sooner than we think.
As we all know, music artists take breaks in between time to produce albums. However, most of those breaks from our favorite artists can sometimes range from 1 to maybe 4 years. So, for these four artists to come back with an album after some time, could 2022 become the year of dope music?
Let’s start with Silk Sonic. Silk Sonic is the group duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak which came together during quarantine last year in 2020 to produce the hit singles we hear now such as “Leave The Door Open” and “Skate”. If you didn’t know, Bruno Mars' last album “24k Magic” came out in 2016, while Anderson .Paak's last album “Ventura” came out in 2019.
In addition, Bruno Mars announced on his Instagram that Silk Sonic’s album “ An Evening With Silk Sonic” will be released in January of 2022. Though it will be winter time, we can warm up by dancing to their summer jams.
Up next is Kid Cudi. Hip-Hop star Kid Cudi has been dominating our playlists with his dark, yet soulful music since 2010.
However, Kid Cudi’s last album “Man on the Moon III: The Chosen” was produced in 2020. Kid Cudi announced on his Twitter that his new album “Entergalactic” will be coming soon on Netflix with “Black-ish” producer Kenya Barris producing it.
Chicago, stand up! Chicago artist Tobi Lou has been releasing music since 2018, he’s a well-known music figure on YouTube with his top hit “Buff Baby” and “Waterboy’, but his last album “Live on Ice” was in 2019. That was until the Chicago rapper posted on his twitter a humorous comment about delaying an album release in which many speculate is to come in 2022.
According to Tobi Lou's Twitter bio, the name of his next album will be called "Non-Parrishable"
Lastly, Kendrick Lamar. Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) artist Kendrick Lamar has paused the hip-hop nation each time he dropped an album. One of his best works was his latest album “DAMN” which was released in 2017. From there, Kendrick Lamar produced the “Black Panther The Album” soundtrack in 2018 and then went off the grid not long after that.
However, Kendrick Lamar posted on his Instagram for the first time in a long time on August 20, 2021 with the caption “oklama.com” where he expressed his time away from the music world and observance of the world’s current events. He also announced that he is producing his last TDE album. Kendrick Lamar did not announce the release date for it yet, but many fans are speculating and hoping that it will come out in 2022.
We look forward to seeing what these artists have been producing during the pandemic and we hope to receive even more ear candy from now until 2022.
