50 Cent Faces Backlash for Comments Made About Late Actor Michael K. Williams
Actor Michael K. Williams was found dead in his Brooklyn, NY apartment this past Monday, September 6th, 2021. The suspected cause was a drug overdose, the actor was 54 years old. Williams was well known for his roles on The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, and Lovecraft Country,
The backlash towards 50 Cent began when he decided to post a screenshot, on Instagram, of an article from the New York Post discussing the untimely death of the late Michael K. Williams. The rapper was quickly called out for seemingly promoting his TV show "Power Book III: Raising Kanan'' and his liquor brands Branson Cognac and Le Chemin Duroi on the post about the death of the actor.
50 Cent went on to post multiple more times about Williams. In one post, 50 uploaded a screenshot of an article from 2018, which addressed a feud the rapper had with Williams, where Willaims has supposedly defended former music executive Jimmy Henchman, who is currently behind bars after being found guilty for hiring a hitman to kill one of 50 Cent’s associates.
The rapper captioned the photo: "Don't ever try to understand me I'm different, I don't do all the fake love shit."
In another social media post, directed at Henchman, 50 had said, "New Caption alert hey jimmy ya man OD'ed," followed by a laughing emoji.
All three of those posts are now deleted, the only one remaining being a screenshot of another article talking about the rapper himself, with the same caption as the original post.
Do you think 50 was out of line?
