Do You Like Scary Movies?: New Scream 2022 Trailer

The iconic late 90s-early 00s teen slasher franchise, Scream, is back once again with its 5th installment. In the first trailer for Scream, the plot seems to do exactly as all the other Scream movies do, function as both a sequel and a reboot, using brand new cast members and a new killer, but keeping ties to the original. The movie, which brings back the three main stars of the original four, Neve Campbell (Sydney Prescott), Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers-Riley), and David Arquette (Dewey Riley), is set be released on Jan. 14, 2022.

All four of the og Screams were directed by Wes Craven, Scream 4 being the last film he would direct before passing.. A decade after the release of Scream 4, fans of the franchise will get to see Sidney returning to Woodsboro after a new wave of murders begins.

Along with the infamous returning characters, Scream will also feature a whole new cast of young actors including Melissa Berrera (In the Heights), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Kyle Gallner (Jennifer's Body), Jenna Ortega (You), Mason Gooding (Booksmart), Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood), Dylan Minnette (Prisoners), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), and Sonia Ammar. According to the trailer all, or most, of the movie’s younger characters seem to have some kind of tie to the killers from the first four movies in the franchise, which will make them targets this time around.
