Easy Apple Pie Filling for to Try for Thanksgiving

When you think about apple pie, you think of that warm, sweet, gooey filling that you just can’t get enough of. Well, now you can make all you want with this really simple recipe.

Apple pie filling can be used in a variety of ways other than the classic pie it was made for. You can put it on your pancakes, turn it into a parfait, eat it as it is, or whatever else your heart wants. It really is perfect for last-minute Thanksgiving dishes. The best part is, you can tweak the ingredients to your liking without messing up the final product.

Lemon juice

Brown sugar

The first thing you want to do is slice up your apples. The way you slice them is completely up to you. Immediately after you’re done, transfer your sliced apples into a bowl and toss in lemon juice to keep them from browning so quickly.

Now add your cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and brown sugar to the bowl and coat the apples in it. A pinch of salt is used to offset the sweetness and the flour is to thicken up the filling.

Transfer the mixture to a pot and cook over medium heat until your apples are your ideal softness. If it starts to stick to the pot, then add two tablespoons of water.

Let the filling chill in the fridge for an hour and serve the way you’d like to and enjoy!
