The 2021 Soul Train Awards: Celebrating 50 years of the Soul Train TV Show





The 2021 Soul Train Awards, which premiered this past Sunday, November 28 on BET. The show was osted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold for the fourth year in a row. This year’s ceremony took place at the World-Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, and also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Soul Train television show’s airing.


The show featured star-studded performances from Silk Sonic’s Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, Summer Walker, Ashanti, Maxwell, Fred Hammond and many more. If you missed its initial airing, don't worry because you can still catch all the performances at the 2021 Soul Train Awards tonight, November 30, at 5:30 PM ET/PT on BET.


R&B/Soul duo Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic, opened up the show with their performance of the song "Fly As Me." Silk Sonic took home the Song of the Year Award, Video of the Year, and the Ashford and Simpson Songwriter's Award.


Some others that were awarded this year were Ciara, Russell Wilson, and Marley Dias who received the Souls of Justice Award, while Ashanti received the Lady of Soul after she performed a medley of her hits. Maxwell also performed a medley of his own songs and received the Living Legend Award.
