Yes! You read it correctly. Your favorite show of cartoon characters that expressed and reflected people of color on not just any TV channel but DISNEY channel is coming back on your tv screens sometime in 2022...and they’re bringing celebrity friends!

On February 27, 2020, it was a huge announcement that “The Proud family” will have their third-season on Disney+ as “The Proud family: Louder and Prouder” starring guest features such as Chance the rapper, Tina Knowles, Keke Palmer, Normani, Lil Nas X and More.

There’s been constant rumors on social media that the show may return, but now that it is confirmed and fans are going crazy! Executive producers Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar have explained how excited they are for the show to make a return as it is currently in production.

“In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell,” Smith and Farquhar said in a GMA Interview. “It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us.”

For those of you who didn’t know, ”The Proud Family” was a show that first aired on Disney channel on September 15, 2001 as it starred the main character named Penny Proud (Kyla Pratt) and her whimsical African-American family such as her dad Oscar Proud (Tommy Davidson), her mom Trudy Proud (Paula Jai Parker), her grandma A.K.A Suga Mama (Jo Marie Payton) Her siblings BeBe and CeCe (Tara Strong) and uncle Bobby proud (Cedric The Entertainer) having a humor-filled, yet family drama that focuses on Penny Proud growing up as a teenager in a light, but strict household and in school with her friends.

The show ended on August 15, 2005. However, it was never to be forgotten and with celebrities in a starring role in the show reboot. We can’t wait to see how PROUD we’re going to be this new season.
