Tragedy hits the Wrestling World
46-yeard old Daffney Unger (born Shannon Spruill) an over 12-year veteran wrestler lost her life from an apparent suicide earlier today.
According to multiple sources, Shannon Spruill was found in her Georgia apartment early Thursday morning a day after she posted a cryptic message on Instagram live.
Wednesday night on Instagram live Daffney said “Do you guys not understand that I'm all alone? Remember, my brain goes to Boston.”
Earlier today fellow wrestler and Daffney’s friend Lexie Fyfe had said to TMZ that she was battling and suffering from mental issues in the recent weeks which could've led to her sad demise.
One of the things that would have affected her is Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or CTE which comes from many head injuries or concussions.
Other wrestlers in the business including Mick Foley, Kane, Big E, Vampiro, and Gregory Helms, have sent their condolences to her family.
Her passing and her battle with mental issues show how the mental side should be taken more seriously in the wrestling business because this could happen to anyone.
